Named after the TRAPPIST-1 star system, whose seven Earth-sized planets were announced by NASA in February 2017 in one of the most celebrated astronomical press events of the decade. Colin created this track approximately two months after that announcement, naming the project after the newly-discovered system.
One track confirmed from the archive: plasser (.aif format, unmastered). Whether additional tracks were planned under the TRAPPIST-1 name or whether this was conceived as a single-track release is unknown.
The TRAPPIST-1 announcement was culturally significant in early 2017 — widely shared as evidence of potentially habitable worlds.
