Project: alphabets
Series: underwaters — Vol. III
Release year: ~2011 (exact date unconfirmed)
Archive location: _Documentation/Music/alphabets/underwaters III
Tracks: 11

The largest volume of the underwaters series and its emotional peak. Eleven tracks cover the widest range of the series: glam, violence (pirate deaths, submarine deaths), labor (builder lobster workers, walk it crabs), and finally, at the end — sad whale.

The closing track title is different in kind from everything before it. Where the rest of the series deals in action and description — parties, pukes, growl swims — sad whale is purely emotional. The whale is just sad. No qualifier, no verb. It reads like a thesis statement for the whole project: at the bottom of the ocean, the largest creature is also the loneliest.

Scuba bats is a standout for combining an aerial animal with underwater equipment — bats, echolocators, now adapted for ocean depth. Punkd out screamer dolphins applies counter-cultural affect to the most sonically expressive marine mammals.
