Project: alphabets
Series: Album a Month — July 2010
File dates: 2010-08-02 (slight overrun from July)
Archive location: _Documentation/Music/alphabets/JULY2010
Tracks: 9 (numbered up to 12 with gaps)
Format: MP3

A summer album with gaps — the track numbering runs up to 12 but only 9 tracks are in the archive (01, 02, 04 not present; 03, 05-09, 11-12 confirmed). The missing tracks may have been removed or not preserved. File dates (August 2, 2010) show slight overrun past July.

“toby in hawaii” — Toby appears here, in Hawaii, on a summer album. Toby previously appeared in toby dance (DANCEPOWER, July 8, 2010), just weeks earlier. Two July 2010 appearances of Toby. Whether Toby is a real person, a character, or a recurring invented figure is unresolved; the specificity suggests a real person.

“tekken2” — a direct video game reference (Tekken 2 was released in 1996). Gaming references are relatively rare in the alphabets catalog, making this notable.

“sharky shirt” and “all thunder stormy” are quintessentially summer titles. “lemonade” (track 09) is one of the simplest track names in the entire catalog — a single noun, season-appropriate. “fair uh moans” sounds like pheromones spoken aloud, phonetically transcribed.

Archive Notes

  • File dates: 2010-08-02 — slightly past July, consistent with end-of-month production
  • Track 08 has two files (archive version conflict)
  • Tracks 01, 02, 04, 10 missing — possible archive gap or removal
  • “toby in hawaii”: second Toby reference in July 2010 (after toby dance in DANCEPOWER, July 8)
  • “buh bow virgo”: “buh bow” is an exclamation (deflation sound); Virgo is the zodiac sign for late August/September — a summer album already anticipating autumn
